Stunning, 1927 bespoke evening tails, navy, 36-38" (VTR756)

Stunning, 1927 bespoke evening tails, navy, 36-38" (VTR756)

An absolutely stunning blue evening tailcoat by JA Baxter, Hanover Street, London, tailored in 1927.

It would be ideal for the Goodwood Regency Ball or similar event.

This is one of the oldest pieces in our collection and is in beautiful condition.

An absolute gem of a coat.

Currently bears Hampshire Hunt buttons.

Condition: Generally in excellent condition all over.

- It has a very small, discreet repair under the right back armpit

- It has some light rubbing in armpit lining

- It has some marks on the back of the left sleeve and we have opted not to dry clean the coat

All flaws quite hard to notice given dark fabric colour and position. Will not affect its use particularly as an evening coat.

- working cuffs

- silk lining

- bespoke tailoring

It measures 19 1/4" across the chest and will fit a 36-38" chest.

It's long at 41 1/2" in length from the bottom of the collar to the hem at the tail points.

Shoulder seam to shoulder seam at the points it measures

The outside sleeve measurement is 27" which is a terrific, modern length.
